Ombré Powder Brows

What are Ombré Powder Brows?

Ombré Powder is a permanent powdered brow technique for clients who prefer a more fuller look. The tails of the brow are darker and fade into a light beginning to the brow, giving a perfect Ombré makeup affect. It’s a technique which looks like daily makeup done with an eyebrow pencil or eyebrow shadow. Soft, misty fronts create a natural and subtle look. This method suits everyone including all skin types. The result will be waterproof, smudge-proof and completely natural that can last up to 3 years.

Am I a good candidate?

Ombré Powder Brows are not for everyone. If any of these apply to you, unfortunately you are not a good candidate for this permanent makeup service. If you schedule your appointment and have one of the restrictions listed, I will not be performing any procedure and your deposit will be forfeited.

What’s the process like?

Consultation is done the same day of your appointment. I will discuss the aftercare with you and have you sign the consent & medical history form. You will also get a written copy of the aftercare instructions to take home. If you lose your copy, you can find it on my story highlight page.

After taking your before photo, I will draw the brow design in pencil so you get an idea of shape and form. (Please note that nobody’s face is totally symmetrical and you need to be realistic with your expectations. There is no point in trying to make the eyebrows identical or match a photo of another person’s eyebrows if your face shape looks nothing like theirs.). Once we have agreed on a final shape (ultimately it is your decision. – but I will always voice my opinion on what I think suits you aesthetically).

How often do I need a touch up?

In order to keep your eyebrow tattoo results looking fresh, a yearly touch up is recommended.

Why do I need a touch up if this is semi-permanent?

Because color is implanted in the facial area there tends to be more fluid circulation than other parts of the body. Your face sees the most wear of any piece of you—exposure to the sun, food, facial products—the list goes on and on. All of these things cause permanent color to fade, this is why you need a touch up.

How long does it take?

The procedure takes roughly about 3 hours, sometimes more sometimes less. This includes consultation and shaping. Please allow a solid 4-hour window for your appointment. I likely won’t need that much time, but this isn’t something I want to rush.

What should I expect? Time frame of healing process vary per individual

  • Day 1 - 2: Brows will appear slightly thicker and darker than what you’ve expected. Sometimes may appear uneven because they may be swollen and some redness may still persist on some clients.
  • Days 3 - 14: Brows will be dry and itchy. Some clients slightly peel, while others may experience some scabbing. Once they start flaking, some areas of the eyebrows will fade more than others and as the pigment oxidizes, it will start to darken up again over a 3-4 week period. It may take up to four to six weeks for the true color to come through. Don’t be alarmed if the color seems to disappear during the healing process, this is due to layers of skin forming and is only temporary. We have no control over our body healing process, so please be patient. Any concerns can all be addressed during the touch up appointment.

I have heard some clients just do not retain pigment even after a few visits. Could this happen?

Yes, it does happen and yes it's true! Some ladies skin may react to the trauma of the tattooing, and the skin may try to push out the foreign body of pigment by producing an extreme scab, so they eventually fall off taking all the pigment with it. There is a condition called Pigment Allergy (PPD Allergy, a condition known by dermatologists) or Auto Immune disease symptoms (the client may not even be aware of it). The skin would have over reacted and become super sensitive to the pigment and reject it at any cost.
